A Matter of Honor

On September 14, 2001 then President George W. Bush (A.K.A shrub)when to ground zero an promised the American people that Osama Bin Laden would be brought to justice. George W. (shrub) failed to keep that promise. Well on Sunday May 1, 2011 President Obama kept that promise to the American people for former President Bush.

In this writers opinion this was a matter of Honor not only for the Presidency of the United States but for the nation as a whole. Every soldier lives by the words Duty, Honor, Country. President Obama as Commander and Chief had a Duty to deliver on the promise made by Shrub which he fail to deliver on and this was more than a Duty it was a Matter of Honor.

Having fulfilled this promise from his predecessor President Obama did not strut, brag, or other wise engage in behavior that would diminish his performance of duty and this matter of honor and in fact to the ridicule of many on the right. President treated this enemy as any true soldier would have done with dignity. We can debate whether Bin Landen was deserving of the dignity accorded him but to do other wise would have made us no better than those who dragged the bodies of American Soldiers through the streets of Iraq. As President Obama explained when he choose not to release the photographs of Bin Laden’s body this is not who the American People are.

Now this performace of Duty to Country, a duty performed with Honor is being attacked by right wing political hacks like Rush Limbaul, and Glen Beck people who are perfectly content to let others do their fighting and dieing for them.

The killing of Osama Bin Laden was and will remain a matter of Honor. The keeping of Someone else’s promise to the country despite every attempt to undermine his Presidency. Regardless of your or my feelings about President Obama no one should be attempting to undermine the Honor of this country and the keeping of a promise to this nation.
